Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalíwas a prominent Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Spain. Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters.His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in 1931. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics. In collaboration with several artists, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, and many other fictional characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. In addition, he headed the first major successful challenge to the industry's censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, and forced it to reform its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation. EDOSA OGUIGOBorn in Ibadan in Nigeria's Oyo state in 1961. He graduated as a Fine Arts Major from Yaba College of Technology in 1985 with several college awards as well as awards in other fields of his life, including the Youth Corps and in the advertising field. He has worked with the Nigerian Television Authority in Benin, Promoserve Limited in Lagos and the Yaba College of Technology.Having worked in the corporate world, Edosa retired into full time studio practice in 1992 and has since then relentlessly engaged in painting. His studio and practice are situated in Lagos, where he also actively participates in workshops with a variety of artists. Edosa's works have been exhibited across Africa, Europe and America. He features in important collections globally. He is the ex-President of the Guild of Fine Artists of Nigeria. |
